Last week I was lucky enough to see an early preview of Booksmart, and while the review is still a couple of weeks away I can state without compunction that it’s one of my favourite films of 2019 so far. A sharply-directed, cleverly-constructed and all-around hilarious teen comedy (think Superbad only starring Jonah Hill’s sister instead of him), it comes with my highest recommendations.
